What view of our world are we accepting...?

From Jill

"As we listen to the news or read a newspaper at the present time, it would seem as though the world is in total disarray everywhere, with governments in chaos, political parties ripped apart by differing human opinions, leaders unable to successfully lead their parties or country, and populations adrift not knowing what is going on currently or what will take place in the future.

I have been thinking and praying much about this, and sometimes feeling that it is such a big and worldwide issue that it is too big to deal with.  But then I have realised that there is only one place for it to be dealt with and that is in my own thought.  Am I accepting that my world is made by, and of, matter and governed by mortals?  Or am I accepting that as the Bible tells us "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth..... and He saw everything that He had made and behold it was very good.?"  Which one am I accepting?  A chaotic universe or a divinely controlled universe?  Jesus asked his disciples "What went ye out for to see...?"  What am I seeing, chaos or harmony?  And I find as I go out each day, and affirm the presence of God's government in everything and know that "The Lord God omnipotent reigneth" rather than struggling, opinionated mortals, that I do see more harmony appearing.  God IS governing His universe now, and we are all part of that harmonious universe as we allow it to reign in our thought.

So we are not helpless in the face of these situations: We can indeed live in God's universe and see fulfilled the lines from the Lord's prayer,

"Thy kingdom come.

Thy kingdom is come. Thou (God) art ever present.

Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

Enable us to know as in heaven, so on earth, God IS omnipotent, supreme."
