GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEED

Tucked away in the Bible in the book of Philippians is this comforting promise: “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory”. We had a wonderful example of this truth recently when needing funds for a new car.

The 2-year lease on my husband’s electric car was due to expire at the end of last year, at which point we had to return it to the leasing company. Looking into a replacement car, we found just what we needed, the deposit or down-payment for the new car being £2,000.

During this time, I had been praying with Mrs. Eddy’s sublime statement that “divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need”. And I have always loved this verse from the book of Malachi: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”.

It felt right to go ahead and order a new car, and the time was fast approaching when the £2000 deposit had to be paid. A line from a much-loved hymn often came to thought: “Love’s work and Love must fit”. I knew that if replacing our old car with a new one was a Mind-impelled idea, then we could trust Mind with the unfoldment of the idea.

As so often happens with Love’s provision, it was tailor-made for us. Funds from a totally unexpected source suddenly became available, and we received a cheque in the post for the exact amount required for the deposit....not a penny more, not a penny less! We made the down-payment, and a few weeks later the new car was delivered to our doorstep!

Is it any wonder that I continue to be so grateful for Christian Science, and for all the blessings which flow from a knowledge of its teachings.
