This week

Sunday Services take place at 10:30am, at our Church Building. This service is on Sunday, 28 October 2018.

The Wednesday Testimony Meeting:

Every week we hold a meeting at 8pm in the church building which begins with a selection of citations from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, on a topic chosen by the First Reader. The second part of the meeting is open to Christian Scientists to share accounts of healings of every sort, which have resulted from their study and practice of this science. A couple of verses from Psalm 75 describe the fundamental purpose of these meetings: "All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee. They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;"

The Sunday Service:

Each week Christian Scientists study one of twenty six subjects chosen by Mary Baker Eddy, to be studied in a six-month cycle. The subject this week is 'Probation After Death' which is one of a small group which examine theological topics in the light of Christian Science. The whole lesson will be read as the sermon at Sunday’s service. Two citations indicate what it contains:

“Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid, Lord, for you are with me." (Psalm 23 - from the Good News Translation in Today's English Version - Second Edition).

"Though the way is dark in mortal sense, divine Life and Love illumine it, destroy the unrest of mortal thought, the fear of death, and the supposed reality of error."(The Christian Science textbook, page 596). The lesson then goes on to explain how this can be understood and demonstrated.

You are very welcome to join us online on Sunday morning at 10.30 either at the church or on line through the Zoom system.
