Facing the new year
via JSH Online

Looking more deeply into this time of reflection and looking forward, we can find comfort and assurance from verse 11 in Jeremiah from the King James version of the Bible:

"I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

This promises a very different viewpoint!  Mary Baker Eddy underlines this idea, "How much more should we seek to apprehend the spiritual ideas of God, than to dwell on the objects of sense! To discern the rhythm of Spirit and to be holy, thought must be purely holy."

There's a great 'chat' on this subject of spiritual thinking in the approach to the new year between three Christian Scientists.
